Set on a hill-top in the north west of Malta, the picturesque village of Mellieha is renowned for its colourful and vibrant village feast on 8th September, celebrating Victory Day during the Great Siege, which is also a national holiday on the island. Fireworks light up the sky as the quiet village is transformed into a colourful scene, filled with people from all over Malta indulging in the traditional food and savouries. The sanctuary of Our Lady of Mellieha, dedicated to Holy Mary, was built in late 16th century and blessed by Pope John Paul II in May 1990.

Mellieha is a rural village whose name is said to derive from the Arabic word meaning salt. It is home to the largest and most popular sandy beach in Malta, Mellieha Bay, as well as other small exquisite beaches.

Visit the amazing Phoenician, Punic and Roman remains and take a walk along the natural routes along the bays. The fortifications, such as Selmun Palace, are a sight not to be missed. Public transport is easily accessible to all main areas.

Luna Holiday Complex enjoys unobstructed views of this magnificent village and its stupendous beaches and is in close vicinity to all natural beauties, central areas, restaurants and beaches.
